Workplace Investigations – Virtual

November 3 @ 9:00 am - 4:30 pm

Workplace Investigations

While  we  are planning an in-person Workplace Investigations training in St. John’s in the spring, we wanted to offer this virtual option for those who are spread out across the province.

Program Overview

When a workplace crisis hits and an investigation is required, are you truly prepared to handle it?

This is a practical one-day program that equips HR professionals with the tools, templates, and techniques to conduct effective workplace investigations.

Paying high hourly legal fees heavily strains your company’s budget and often leaves you no further ahead. But what if you could confidently conduct an objective investigation on your own?

This intensive, one day virtual program delivers the foundational tools, templates, and frameworks you need to navigate any file, from the initial complaint to a clear, defensible final report, with confidence.

Developed specifically for HR professionals, executives, and institutional leaders, this fast-paced session focuses entirely on practical, hands-on execution. Participants will learn how to screen and triage complaints, plan their investigative scope to protect evidence, conduct effective interviews, weigh conflicting credibility using established Canadian standards, and review the landmark court cases and arbitration decisions that define an employer’s legal duty to investigate.

What’s Included:

Every participant receives a digital copy of the Investigator’s Toolkit, which serves as an operational blueprint for future files. The entire package includes hands-on training exercises, template notification letters to parties, a complete sample investigation report, and direct links to important Canadian case law.
