Chartered Professional in Human Resources Newfoundland and Labrador (CPHR NL) maintains the principles of integrity and trust with respect to the privacy of personal information. As part of this commitment, the CPHR NL will protect the privacy at all times of personal information received from our members, employees and applicants for employment, membership, partnerships, as well as personal information received from other source . To ensure this commitment, the CPHR NL agrees to comply in all material respects with applicable privacy laws.

Definition of Personal Information

The Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act, in Newfoundland and Labrador defines Personal Information as recorded information about an identifiable individual including: the individual’s name, address, telephone number; race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, political beliefs; age, sex, identifying number, education, and criminal or employment status.

This is the definition adopted by CPHR NL.

Collection, Use or Disclose Personal Information

CPHR NL is committed to administrating and delivering superior services to our members and stakeholders. As a result, we collect, disclose and use information, when applicable, for the following purposes:

  • To fulfill the objectives of the Association as outlined in the bylaws;
  • To process applications for membership and continuing professional development of the CPHR designation;
  • To process registrations for continuing professional development, exams, conferences, and other CPHR NL events;
  • To distribute association publications;
  • To communicate association messages;
  • To contact members regarding membership, certification and accreditation messages;
  • To notify members of new membership benefits and other association related information; and,
  • To provide access to the Online Membership Directory for networking purposes.

Information collected may be placed in databases, e-mails, word processing merge documents, and other electronic systems to facilitate the uses described above.

When you visit our website our web server automatically collects standard information including IP address, domain, length of visit, pages visited, referring sites or sites from which you came, the site to which you go, browser type etc. We use this information to compile reports assessing the usefulness of our site to our visitors, to assess our marketing efforts, and to monitor our website’s performance.
