Webinar: Beyond Bias: Recognizing Bias. Strengthening Decisions

January 20, 2027 @ 10:30 am - 12:30 pm

Program Overview

Description

Bias is part of being human, but when it goes unexamined, it can affect who gets hired, heard, supported, promoted, or overlooked.

In this practical and interactive session, HR professionals and people managers will explore how bias can influence workplace decisions across recruitment, performance, advancement, and policy. Participants will practise recognizing assumptions, examining evidence, and applying simple tools to strengthen workplace decisions.

The session will also examine the limitations of “culture fit” and introduce a culture-add approach to building stronger, more inclusive teams.

Learning Outcomes

  • Recognize how common forms of bias can influence workplace relationships and people decisions
  • Identify where bias may appear across recruitment, onboarding, performance management, development, promotion, and policy
  • Apply practical strategies to interrupt assumptions and support more consistent, evidence-informed decisions
  • Use a culture-add approach to strengthen hiring, team development, retention, and advancement
