Newly Accredited Programs 2023 - CPHR NL

We are very pleased to announce that 3 of Memorial University of Newfoundland’s business degree programs have been accredited.  Accreditation allows for qualified graduates to bypass a number of prerequisite courses and the National Knowledge exam.  This is the second accredited institute in Newfoundland and Labrador, following the accreditation of the College of North Atlantic Diploma in Business Management (Human Resource Management)  approximately a year ago.   This accreditation is not only meaningful for Newfoundland and Labrador, but also adds to the national network of institutions that are also accredited.  This accreditation will be recognized by all provincial members of CPHR Canada.  CPHR Canada represents over 31000 human resource professionals.

This is a wonderful new partnership that will help bring human resources to the forefront for business students at MUN .  CPHR NL and MUN’s Faculty of Business Administration are committed to continue this partnership which will have benefits for both.  CPHR NL thanks the Faculty of Business Administration for their support and collaboration over the past year in seeing see this accreditation come to fruition.  We look forward to further partnerships.

This new accreditation will greatly facilitate the attainment of the CPHR Designation in Newfoundland and Labrador.  We believe this will have a great impact on membership recruitment efforts, not to mention getting more CPHR designated individuals into the workforce.

The three qualifying degrees are:

  1. Bachelor of Commerce (Co-op)
  2. Bachelor of Commerce
  3. Bachelor of Business Administration

Additional criteria that must be met, including graduation with an overall average of 70% or higher since 2013, and completion of the two following electives:
