As of today, HRPNL will be known as CPHR Newfoundland and Labrador, the Chartered Professionals in Human Resources of Newfoundland and Labrador. This name change coincides with the official unveiling of the new CPHR brand representing 27,000 CPHRs in the nine CPHR member provinces and three territories across Canada.
“We see this is another great stride in our shared mission to advance the HR profession here in Newfoundland and Labrador, across Canada and internationally,” says Neil Coombs, President, CPHR Newfoundland and Labrador. “CPHR Newfoundland and Labrador and the member associations across the country have worked diligently to develop a look and a tone that reflects our profession as impactful, high-value, trustworthy business leaders.”
The profession in Canada is now officially represented nationally and internationally by Chartered Professionals in Human Resources Canada (CPHR/CHRA Canada). Here in Newfoundland and Labrador, your membership and your designation and our provincial visibility remains as the focus and responsibility of CPHR Newfoundland and Labrador. While the new CPHR Newfoundland and Labrador brand is designed to represent us well, it is also designed to be credible. So, you won’t see us flying in helicopters, or leaping tall buildings. You will see us applying our unique expertise to increasing professional success for businesses, organizations and individuals.
“A big part of a successful designation and its reputation is how we actively represent it as your provincial member association, and how each of us demonstrates what we stand for, as a CPHR,” adds Neil Coombs, CPHR, President, CPHR Newfoundland and Labrador. “We feel the brand reflects well on our profession and we hope that everyone will take the opportunity to share it with employers, colleagues, family and friends and help raise awareness about the value that HR brings to our work and our communities.”
CPHR Newfoundland and Labrador will be using the new brand to position our profession strongly across the province with all our stakeholders. We are continuing to advance the profession through our existing conference and professional development opportunities, new post-secondary accreditations and our continuing progress toward self-regulation.
CPHR Canada is strengthening their reputation as leaders and economic drivers across Canada and representing Canada’s HR profession with Member Associations around the world. A targeted communication campaign to raise awareness of CPHRs among business leaders will be launched during March.
For our members who are CPHRs, your new certificates and pins will be sent to you in the coming weeks.
